Butterflies!

on Feb 22nd 2009

Check out what I made with the Butterfly Sissix Die!  This is actually a 3D type card as the wings are

popped up – and you are probably thinking that I used Stampin’ Dimensionals – well I did – but that’s not really what is holding it in a 3D position. . . check out the bling brad in the middle.  The shanks on these brads are nice and long. . . so, I shaped it in a V-shape and this cute butterfly looks like it’s ready to take off.

You get all 3 butterfly sizes on 1 die. . . a great value.  Just wait till you check out the soon to be announced Big Shot special class!

Goin’ Green

on Feb 17th 2009

In more ways than one!  This Garden Green card also uses a little recyling – made possible by the Big Shot machine!  Check out the super cute accent made from a beer can!  Yes, I used my craft and rubber scissors (no need for them now that our rubbah comes pre-cut!) to cut apart a beer can (I used a lemonade can too!  And yes for those of you that know me – you knew I had to go recycling bin diving for these since I don’t drink beer!

The Birds and Blooms sizzlet cuts through the thin metal on the can without problems – punch a hole in the center with your crop-a-dile and insert one of those gorgeous new corduroy brads and you are set for the best accent around!  Other items on this card is the new eyelet border punch, Summer Sun Cardstock, Sale-a-Bration stamp set (free!) Congrats, and the new designer series paper Good Morning Sunshine.

Bet you wish you were getting this card in the mail?  Be the next person to place an online order and I will send you one!

Circle Scissors Plus

on Feb 15th 2009

Have you noticed the new cutter on page 188 in the catalog?  I finally got a chance to really play with it yesterday – and oh, boy is it sharp and awesome.  I wanted to get a chance to play with it so that my March Clubs would have some samples to look at when they get a chance to play with it.  If you haven’t noticed, circles are pretty hot right now in scrapbooking and card making.  This is one of the favorite cards I made.  It uses the new hostess set Echoes of Kindness.  I cut a 3 inch circle in Manchester Designer Series Paper and stamped the image in the middle.  If you check out the top right corner, I used my Hobby Blade to cut out a small portion of the image and place on top of the Manchester paper.  The card background is Baja Breeze – and I used the stamp pad and an aqua painter to color the image in.  The cute little felt flower accent just brings the whole image together.

Off to a show today.  Hopefully I will get a chance to work more on the class projects later today – I’m telling you – you are gonna luv it!!!!

Send a Friend a Card Day – Feb 7

on Feb 3rd 2009

What a great idea!  I read about this day in a magazing and why not make someone’s day by sending them a handmade card.  Remember a Card is a Hug with a fold in the middle!   I love it when I see a card in my mail box.  It’s such an easy way to make someone’s day!

Here’s a little more inspiration for you as you get ready to make some cards to send out. . . this one is made using a Sale-a-Bration set called Botanical Blooms and the papaer is Delicate Dots which is also a free product available during Sale-a-Bration!

I don’t know who the designer of this card is but, it was from a shoebox swap this past weekend hosted by one of my fine uplines. This card also showcases the new eyelet border punch – you can see it on top of the vellum cardstock.  And you can see how I punched the edges of the white cardstock as well – very nice delicate touch!

Don’t forget that you can order online and receive your Sale-a-Bration sets AND the first 22,000 to order this way will receive a free Idea Book & Catalog from Stampin’ Up!

You’ll also learn how to make the scallop circle textured at class tonight.  I love texture and we’re going to use a little alcohol (yes, but not the drinking kind!) to create a deeper texture!
