Texturz Plate meets Brayer
BJ on Apr 15th 2009

Check out this customer favorite from Techniques Class and Big Shot Class night last week – bet you wish you were there! This card uses a great technique utilizing your brayer and the texturz plate (page 203) of your choice. Simply brayer your plate with your ink color selection and then cover with a thin sheet of paper and send through your Big Shot. The original color of cardstock will come through on the raised images. The cool effects you can get with this technique by changing cardstock and ink colors certainly is stimulating my creative juices!
In this card, the base is Bashful Blue with Sahara Sand. I brayered Chocolate chip on my texturz plate and placed a piece of Bashful Blue cardstock on it. The flower is from our Die Cuts Blooms (they’re from textured cardstock, soooo easy to work with – and inexpensive!). Check them out on page 181. I also used 1" Chocolate Chip Double Stitched ribbon (page 178) and the Flower assortment brads (page 175).

Easter Table Decor
BJ on Apr 13th 2009

Check out my Easter Table Decor! Last week at Big Shot Class night, we made flowers and butterflies from Fun Foam. For my Easter table I made a bouquet of flowers and added a few butterflies – and bunnies and here is the result. I am certainly lovin’ the ease by which I can create and decorate with the Big Shot. I love the versatility of the vast number of mediums I can cut with the Big Shot – and how I can use up my scraps of paper. Don’t forget that my Big Shot class is the second Wednesday of every month if you want to come – it is free for 4 times for those who have purchased the Big Shot from me or $5 fee for others. Oh, and did I say that I have specials just for class attendees?
Matchbox Big Shot Die
BJ on Apr 10th 2009
Have you checked out the Matchbox Die in the Occasions Mini Catalog? I am amazed at the versatility and how easy this little box goes together! No adhesive needed on the box part – only a little for the cover. Amazing.
The matchbox as shown on the right is easy to decorate – there’s even a coordinating stamp set called Matchbox Messages. This one is made by Julie Schrader who I swapped with in Hawaii. . . but, you’re not out of luck as this month I am featuring a matchbox with a great NEW technique at my workshops – have one of your own or attend one that I have scheduled. If you schedule a workshop with me in April, I will put your name into a drawing the the Matchbox Messages stamp set!
The gorgeous creation on the left is from a wonderful demonstrator and stamper by the name of Denise Jorgensen. She put 4 together and added a top note bottom and top – and voila! Isn’t it gorgeous!
Occasions Mini Catalog
BJ on Apr 8th 2009
I am lovin’ the Occasions Mini Catalog. . . and did you see the Stampin’ Up! special that coincides with the mini?
This set is called Scene in a Garden and is on page 4 in the mini. In fact, you’ll see a card very similar to this on that page. (I had to add ribbon!) This was a WOW card at club this month. After embossing, we used bleach to wipe out the color in some sections and then using a blender pen and pastels colored over the top. The bench isn’t bleached but, instead, I used the versamark pen to highlight it. The phrase is from Curvy Verses stamp set.
Easter Table Favor

Isn’t he cute? He is made with the scallop circle – just like the valentine treat shown here.
These little guys will certainly be adorning my table. . . you can make them yourself by using the scallop circle as a base, oval punches, Full heart and heart to heart punches. Can’t figure it out – give me a call.
Here comes the Bunny!

Are you getting ready for Easter? Today’s and tomorrows posts are designed to inspire some creativity for you. Make sure you check back tomorrow for a cute table favor!
The small bunny is made using the Baskets & Blooms die (a Stampin’ Up! exclusive), Large and small oval punches, Heart to Heart PUnch, 3/4" and 1/2" circles and a little sating bow – hmmmm so cute! Warning he’s made of paper so if you hug him too tight he will be squished!
The large bunny holds a few more Easter treats! He is made using the new Bags with Scallops box covered with a Top note die. The ears are from the Build a flower sizzlets, Nose- heart to heart punch, Eyes are 1 and 1/2" circles. Lovin’ these guys!
I’ve been having fun with punches – wait until tomorrow and you’ll see more!
Occasions Mini – Lovin’ the scallop Punch
BJ on Apr 5th 2009

Finally got to post this card that I made for Club this month. I highly recommend two new things in the Occasions Mini Catalog . The set is called "Oval All." This is a simle but, easy set to work with for many occasions. You can add to a card with other stamped images or simply make this set your focal point. Which is the perfect way to go if you need a quick card.
The addition I highly recommend is the scallop oval punch right below it. Scallops just add a touch of flair that can’t be replaced. And you can see from this card how easy it coordinates with the scallop punches we already have.
Other components of this card include Rasberry Tart Designer Series Paper, Rose Red cardstock that was textured using one of our new textures plates (ask me how to get the best texture!). Kiwi Kiss ribbon.
Stamp a Stack April 9 at 6:30pm – room is still available. Bring a friend for an extra gift. RSVP soon.
