Celebrate National Scrapbooking month. . . .

BJ on May 30th 2009

with a quick and easy scrapbook!

Can I say, I love quick and easy?  This was made in l hour from concept to finish – including journaling!  What do you think?  I am sure you can find an hour to make this memory that will look great on your coffee table – and your friends will think it’s great too!

This scrapbook celebrates the fun I had at the Stampin’ Up! convention in 2008.  Many of my downline went and we had a great time celebrating with each other.  In this pic, Sue, Tatiana and myself enjoyed a great night of entertainment from a Minnesota group – Tonic Sol Fa!  They were awesome – and they are coming back this year!  (If you want to go to convention with me – it’s not too late.  Give me a call and I’ll tell you when and where)

To make this scrapbook, you will need the clear Card, Telephone & Address die from the bigz clear die sizzix line.  The clear die is just that, clear so that you can place over your picture and see what the result will be.  Then you just flip and send through your sizzix!  I bought the holder from WM.

Teacher Gifts, Grad gifts and more!

BJ on May 29th 2009

We are all making sure that we are spending wisely but, yet at this time of year we want to honor teachers, graduates, and have quick gifts ready as hostess gifts for those summer bar-b-ques.  Once you make one of these, you can easily make more quickly and easily!  Check out my class schedule for this great class!  Or print out this flyer for more information.

My friend, Georgia Giguere taught me this great folding technique and idea when we had a little stamping session last Saturday.  Georgia is a great stamper!  Notice that I used the textured cardstock on the front of the holder.  Remember that the textured cardstock is also available on the special this month – I love adding just that little extra "feel" to my projects!  There are 4 cards inside this holder – 2 are shown here.  I used the Oval All stamp set once again – I will be sad when this set goes away on June 30 – the versatility is amazing.

When you register for class, there are 3 options for you to choose from;

Option 1 – $20, includes all materials for a set of boxes including 4 card/notecards and envelopes

Option 2 – $50 (Great Value), includes class and paterials plus; Oval All Stamp set ($16.95) and Scallop Oval Punch ($15.95)

Option 3 – $85 (Best Value).  With this option you can make a minimum of 4 more sets (that’s 8 more gifts!).  This option contains everything in option 1 and 2 plus;

  • 1 package Bella Rose Designer Series paper (or other DSP of your choice) $9.95
  • 1 package Notecards with Envelopes, $5.95
  • 1 package Whisper White cardstock, $7.50
  • 1 package Whisper White Medium Envelopes, $6.50
  • 1 spool of white organza ribbon, $5.95

Unable to attend?  Add $5 shipping and Ill mail you your kit.  Kit will include precut paper and instructions, but will not include any stamped images.

Hope to see you at class!

Simply Gorgeous!

BJ on May 28th 2009

This card looks sooo much better in person – I am hoping that you can enjoy it – at least a little by the picture.  I can’t wait for the roses in my garden to look like this!  I love the Manhattan Flower embossing folder exclusively from Stampin’ Up!  Here I impressed it on shimmery white cardstock.  After that, I ran my craft white stamp pad over the top and then embossed the raised edges with white embossing powder.  Then you’ll do the unthinkable. . . spray the cardstock until it is absolutely wet.  You want puddles.  Then drop bits of your reinkers on your image and spread it out!  You can create a ton of different looks with adding color variations, cutting out parts of the image, etc.  Give it a try!  If you don’t have the embossing folder yet, make sure you get one soon.  I can’t imagine it will be retired but, coming June 1 is the "last chance" time for the current Stampin’ Up! catalog!

Oh my, where has the time gone?

BJ on May 27th 2009

Well, I have had a few weekends of crafting time – well, I also had some great time in the yard as well.  So, I have been a slacker at posting pics and hopefully providing you with some inspiration.  Well, that’s about to change – hang on to your seat and make sure you check back everyday as I have lined up some posts for you to enjoy.

This project was actually very easy.  A 12 x 12 sheet folds easily into this cute little file holder.  It’s a perfect size for a handmade card or two!  These cards are simple and look great with just a little of our Designer Series Paper – don’t forget it is on special this month!  I also love the oval all stamp set and the coordinating punches.

Wouldn’t this be a perfect teacher or hostess gift?  Need a few quick?  Contact me and I will hook you up!  There might be a class (or two) added to my upcoming calendar. . . . I am soooo close to my goal that I am hoping you all are ready for some fun ideas I want to share!

A day for me. . . .

BJ on May 9th 2009

Ah, yes. . . . the guys are fishing and I had a day just for me.  I spent the day playing – and scrapbooking.  Something I haven’t had a chance to do for a long time – too long.  This is a scrapbook of me and my girls.  It was inspired by a book I saw at a recent Stampin’ Up! meeting (thanks Renee!).  I used Stampin’ Up!’s longboard chipboard.  It is a great quality and it was sooo easy to work with.  Of course I had to use our great Designer Series paper (on sale this month), this one is "Always."  It’s got pizzaz and a girls best friend – Chocolate (chip).  The longboard comes 5 3/4" tall by 14 3/4 inches wide.  It covers so easily – and cut very well in the Big Shot.

Other supplies I used in this mini book are;

  • Circle Scissors Plus cutter plus circle punches.  I carried the circle theme throughout.
  • Felt fusion flowers – simple and easy to add that little extra texture and interest.
  • Serif Essentials Alphabet – a must have for any scrapbooker
  • Bits of ribbon – I just love how I have ribbon that matches my color scheme.

Interested in making your own mini book?  Sign up for my Stamp Camp on May 16 and I will help you create your lovely mini book!

I am showcasing our great Designer Series Papers in this CUTE card!  This is Candy Cane Lane.  The flowers are from the Flowers Layers #3 (page 199) Sizzix die.  This was the favorite card at my clubs this month (and there were some great ones this month!)

Certainly lots of FUN in this card.  Great Mothers Day card!

I’m Back!

BJ on May 7th 2009

And just in time for my second favorite Stampin’ Up! Sale – it’s a great one!  It’s one that you plan around – and make sure you get the BIG bargain!  Did you notice?      (trumpet sound)     Buy 3 packs of Stampin’ Up!’s awesome designer series paper or 12 x 12 textured cardstock ane get 1 pack free!   That’s like 25% .   Ah ya – a sale worth it’s weight in stocking up on paper!

This was a card made the last few nights at club. . . It uses the Movers and Shapers die and of course the wonderful Tea Party Designer Series paper!  Ok, here’s a little bit more about this card;

Movers & Shapers Die – p 195.  The shape on this die is magnetic and you can position it where you want it.  The die also cuts and scores your cardstock for you.  This is an exclusive Stampin’ Up! die made by Sizzix.  Notice that the Curly label punch box stamp set and punch matches perfectly with this set!  Nummy!  Hey, I have a special this month – if you host a private class or catalog show, I will double your free hostess merchandise!   What a perfect way to get both of these great products!

Petal Pizzaz stamp set.   Love this bold image stamp set.  I used the scallop circle on this flower image and of course the leaves (in Garden Green) come from Petal Pizzaz as well.  I love the additional texture that comes with the courduroy buttons!  They are a perfect accent to this card.  Check them out on page 176.

Well, that’s all for today.  It’s good to be back.  I love the balance that my Stampin’ Up! demonstratorship brings to my life with a demanding full-time job.  It’s so peaceful and relaxing.  It makes H1N1 seem like a dream!  Did you see that you can start your own business or get a discount on your Stampin’ Up! products for only $75 this month?  Why not create that fun, creative outlet and balance center for you?
