A Special Birthday Card

on Mar 27th 2012

Several weeks ago, I met several of my downline for a fun lunch.  We had been planning this lunch since last fall and a few things just kept getting in the way.  The lunch was supposed to be a birthday lunch for me.  We had a great time chatting and planning and laughing.  Then they pulled out this birthday card – isn't it cute?  Simple and fun.  My downline Tatiana Keene made this card.  I loved how she used the framelits and the Mixed Bunch stamp set.  The little touch of seam binding ribbon and Bakers twine at the bottom just adds that extra little pizzaz.  Thanks Ladies!

I just want to remind you that there are only a couple of days left in Sale-a-Bration.  One of my very good customers reminded me of that last night when she called to get her final 2 freebies from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  Don't miss out!  Make sure you get your orders in by Saturday afternoon (I'm taking the grandsons to the Osmund Shrine Circus Saturday night).

Blessings on your day!

It’s Spring!

on Mar 25th 2012

I needed a little table decor for my open house this weekend and thought these daisy's would do.  What do you think?

I used the Daisy Die and layered 2 each of each size of daisy on a stick.  I fastened them to a dowel using lots of hot glue.  The vase is a container from a coffee drink.  I used crinkled strips of Certainly Celery for the leaves – attached with mini glue dots.  I used the remainder of the Certainly Celery strips to crinkle and put in the bottom of the jar.

The striped grosgrain ribbon give the perfect finish to the vase.  Don't you think?

Here's the exciting part.  A customer saw them and ordered a bunch for an upcoming event!  Voila!  Love it!

Hope you have a spring sun shiny day!

Blessings!

Happy Easter Everybunny!

on Mar 24th 2012

Wouldn't you love to have this cute little box to hold your Easter treats?  I saw something very similar on Pinterest and had to modify it just a bit for me.  It's sooooo stinkin cute!!!!    Here's what I used to make the box – or base for the bunny;

Cardstock & Ink;  Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Soft Suede ink, Black Stampin' Write marker

Dies:  Scallop Circle, Fancy Favor box (it's in between 2 scallop circles – you have to cut the box down to a 2 1/4" height)

Punches:  Itty Bitty punches (for banner) and square (makes the banner tails)

Here's my punch sheet for the bunny

Lots of punches!  Punches are like the Energizer Bunny – they keep on going and creating, and going and so on!  Stay tuned for more fun projects in the next week – cuteness is on the way.  Check back daily so that you don't miss a thing!

Blessings!

Vintage Inspirations

on Mar 23rd 2012

This incredibly simple card uses a few of my favorite products.

First – the Edgelit Die and coordinating Textured Impressions Embossing Folders from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Love these adorning accents!

The first picture cuts your cardstock and the second picture depicts the coordinating embossing folders.  Love them!

Next, I used some of my favorite DSP – Mocha Morning.  This is a specialty DSP – so it has flocking!  I like the colors and am drawn to it especially when I want to make more masculine cards.  Look at how rich it is!

And finally the stamp set is certainly of a vintage flavor.  It is from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Rue Des Fleurs.

TGIF everyone!  Make it an awesome day!  Blessings.

Pretty Butterflies

on Mar 22nd 2012

It has been so nice in Minnesota!  Grass is getting green.  Trees are budding.  Perennials are breaking through.  Pretty soon, we'll see butterflies. . . but, they were also out in my studio this week.

I love how this card turned out.  I saw a similar layout somewhere and added a few touches.  Here's what I used;

Cardstock & Ink;  Concord Crush, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, First Edition DSP

Stamp Sets;  Fresh Vintage, Blessings from Heaven

Punches:  2 1/2" circle and scallop edge

Sizzix Die; Beautiful Butterflies, Beautiful Wings

In the spirit of using all parts, check out what the inside of the card looks like:

Cute!!

Keep in mind a very important thing.  Concord Crush is a 2010-2012 In Color.  So that means in May you will have your last chance to stock up on this color and the other 2010-2012 In Colors.  Stock up.  Don't forget your re-inkers!!!

Blessings!

MMMMMM – Cherries!

on Mar 20th 2012

I played around with the Cherry scented embossing powder in the Occasions Mini catalog – not only does this card look great but it tickles the olfactory senses as well!  Nummmy!

I used a layout that I saw somewhere (if it's your's, let me know and I'd be happy to give you credit).  Here's what I used;

Stamp Sets:  Mouthwatering, Sweet Cake (greeting), Fresh Vintage (background)

Cardstock & Ink;  Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Attic Boutique (patterned DSP), Versamark

Punches;  2 1/2" circle, 1 3/4" circle, 1"circle, square punch (used to make perfect flag on end of greeting)

Accessories;  White gel pen, Cherry embossing powder

If you haven't yet looked at the scented embossing powers, you have a choice of vanilla, melon and cherry.  They are in the Occasions Mini catalog so they will be here through April 30.  They are clear embossing powders.  So, how did I have them show up in Cherry Cobbler you ask?  Well – simple.  Stamp as you normally would.  In the case of these cherries, I stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  When I was done with that, I covered the cherries with versamark ink and then applied the scented embossing powder.

Make sure you get your scent on!

Blessings!
