More Perfectly Preserved
BJ on Aug 29th 2012

Last weekend I met some great people at Woodbury Days. On Saturday, I was demonstrating using framelits and watercoloring. This is the card I made. It's actually a pretty simple card. Here's what I used;
Stamp Sets; Perfectly Preserved, Mixed Medley
Cardstock & Ink; Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade, Raspberry Ripple, Island Indigo, Orchard Harvest DSP, StazOn black, pool party
Big Shot; Cannery Set framelits
Accessories; Raspberry Ripple Stitched Ribbon, 1" square punch (makes banner on DSP), 1 1/4" scallop circle punch (new), 1" circle punch, 3/4" circle punch, aquapainter, corner rounder
Here's a closeup of the jar which has been aquapainted with pool party ink to show water in the jar.

If you haven't yet checked out the Mixed Medley stamp set (it's what I used on the greeting), you need to check it out. It's a super fun set! It's a hostess set – and you can get yours when you host a private class in your home or mine!

Can't you see lots of uses for this set? I certainly can! On Sunday I demonstrated using this set as well. Here's a sneak peak of something that you are going to see in the next few days on my blog!

Blessings!
Christmas in August
BJ on Aug 23rd 2012
Yes, it's never too early to think of Christmas. I had fun getting ready for my Christmas card class this week – and I am in love with a few of the cards. Here is one of them;

Let me tell you a bit about this gorgeous card.
First the background. I used the new Core'dinations card stock and ran it through my Big Shot with the new Lacy Brocade embossing folder. Next I used the new Stampin' Sanding Block and revealed more of the inside color of this cardstock.

I really love this look. Find these items all on page 6 of the Holiday Mini Catalog
.
Then check out the DSP, do you like it? Well I think this is a super deal. It is from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack – and it is only $6.95! Fun holiday colors. Versatile designs. 48 sheets 4 each of 12 double-sided designs only $6.95!
The stamp set is Watercolor Winter on page 14 of the mini catalog – and oh, yes- I watercolored the image. So easy to do with our aquapainters! Don't you love it!
My next class is on Tuesday, August 28. It's a free workshop! RSVP if you'd like to come!
Blessings!
A few of my favorites
BJ on Aug 21st 2012
Saturday was my monthly downline meeting. My group is called the North Starz and we certainly had a "star" filled meeting! We did lots of celebrating and stamping! We also had a card swap and here are a few of my favorites!

I am enjoying the Perfectly Preserved set – so many different looks for this stamp set. Unfortunately, I don't know which one of my wonderful downline made this card.

I like the color combos in this one using the Wonderfall stamp set and the new coordinating die. This card was made by Helen Hopke.

I love the simple elegance of this card made by Jan Ledman. The strip of DSP is just the perfect touch!

And then there's this one made by Nancy Sathra (her first meeting!) She was one of the winners of the card contest! Love the strips of DSP in this card!

And then there's this one made by Jason Novotny – another first timer! He used the new Core'dinations Card Stock. This is 80 lb sandable card stock with an inside layer that is a monochromatic color. You reveal the inside layer by sanding, tearing or distressing. Here's a close up.

You'll find this in 3 colors; Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green in the Holiday Mini Catalog.
If you want to join our group for next month – we'd love to have you. Guests are welcome or simply join our group now – it's such a perfect time with the build your own starter kit and the Halloween Printing tray!
Blessings!
Get your FREE MDS trial now!
BJ on Aug 15th 2012
Stampin' Up! has released an Updated version of it's digital software called My Digital Studio – or MDS for short. Most of you know that I was very skeptical about digital scrapbooking – at first! What I found was that I loved the more instant gratification, the speed at which I could finish a project AND believe it or not that I could make a book without the mess. (no comments from those who have seen my craft room at it's finest! hehe).
Did you know that Stampin' Up! has improved it's MDS program? I absolutely LOVE the upgrades! I can color a single stamp in multiple colors – and soooo much more!
Did you know that you can use MDS for more than just scrapbooking? Yes, you saw the video but, I also used it to make several slideshows with my added captions and touches – including music in the background!
Did you know that you can get a free trial of MDS for 30 days? Well, you can. It doesn't give you all of the functionality but, enough to let you fall in love with it. You can order it online right here from my website. The code is; 130910
So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and Get it! After all – it's free. . . oh, did you want more that free? Hmmm – well how about if I tell you that not only do you get my support as a demonstrator but, you also can access a ton of ideas, ask questions and learn everything you may want to know on a free website? Well, go to mydigitalstudio.net and browse away – yes, it's free!

Words to live by

Stampin' Up! has some new ads out – and this is one of them. Come one ladies – let's keep doing it!!

I really like this one! These are such true words. We all have a creativity gene – some are just more developed than others. How developed is yours? If you need some help – give me a call! hehe

So here's my inspiration for you today. This witches hat uses my favorite petal cone die, The scaringbone and Howlstooth DSP. The whole thing is texturized by using the argyle embossing folder. A scrunched up flower with a glimmer brad and a greeting finish this decoration off perfectly! What you can't see is that the whole thing has a bit of glitter shimmer. Yes, I am recommending our new spritzer bottles with an alcohol and shimmer paint mixture. LOVE it!
Blessings!

When I saw this stamp set in the new catalog, I knew I had to have it – it just seems like fun. Here is a card using the Halloween boot.

Check out the images in this stamp set;

Cute huh? I love the strips of Polka Dot Parade DSP on this card. Just brings out the fun. The background texture folder is the new Argyle Folder.
Enjoy!

Perfectly Preserved

This card reminds me of fall, canning with my mom and grandma and homemade chicken noodle soup. OK – don't ask me why the soup – but it just does! This was a card my hostess club members got to make for free this month – don't you love it! Or better yet, don't you wish you were there?
You'll find the Perfectly Preserved stamp set (I actually recommend looking at the bundle) on page 29 in the Holiday mini catalog. I think this is the first design of it's kind. Perfect for when I want to send that "home made" feeling. Plus, with the matching framelits, I can cut all the parts with one swoop through the big shot. That's right – just stamp all the images on 1 piece of paper, match up the framelits and send through the big shot 1 time – and you are done! No cutting needed!

Can I just say – I LOVE the framelits! So easy. . . hmmmmmm yippee! Check out this DSP!

Oh, and did you see the wonderful woodgrain embossing folder? LOVE it!

It just gives awesome texture!
OK, enough of that. I have some other news to share. We are rejoicing and praying. First, we are rejoicing because Jim had a checkup at Mayo yesterday and all went well. While there are a couple of little things, for the most part he got a great report. We are however praying for my 101 year old Grandma, she fell and broke her hip. Had surgery yesterday and is doing as well as you can expect. I am afraid this will end her independant living and that will be a very big adjustment for her.
Blessings!
Welcome Banner
BJ on Aug 7th 2012

I have a new banner for my booths and stampin' space! Here's a close up;

Each letter uses an embossing folder – LOVE the textures (but if you follow me, you already knew that!). I used the new Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die for the base.

The rosettes are 1 1/4" x 12 inch strip scored every 1/4" using the Simply Scored. The DSP is from Floral District (of course! If you dfon't have this DSP yet – what are you waiting for?).
Stay tuned this week for an "ornamental" occasion! I demonstrated the ornaments at the fair this weekend and have more to share. I also edited the video and had some issues, however I think I have them fixed but need to re shoot the video – so, check back soon for that!
Blessings!

Did you see the new sweater trim in the Holiday Mini Catalog? It is so soft and cuddly! I can't wait to use it on my holiday cards. Think mittens, snowmen, etc.

This yummy trim comes in Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and Whisper White. I am taking reservations for a ribbon share – you have to get some of each color for sure!!!!! The details are; 2 yards of each color for $6.25. Get your reservations in early as you are going to want to order more in in your favorite color(s)!
Make sure you stop and see me at the Washington County fair tonight, Saturday and Sunday. I will be demonstrating some great ideas that I'm sure you are going to want to copy!

OK, so I have to admit that I was totally in love with this project! I saw it at convention. When I came home, I knew I had a similar frame in my closet just begging to be made into something special. Here is my project;

I LOVE it! You can see this for yourself at the Washington County Fair booth – we are in building B in our usual spot! It is using the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP from the Holiday Mini Catalog – do you have yours yet? If not, you are surely missing out.
