Berry Blossoms

on Jul 23rd 2011

Here's an ubber cute card using some of the new DSP (designer series paper).  It's appropriately called Berry Blossoms.  This card is full of brand new things;  Colors;  Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade  Ribbon:  Dotted Scallop (if you love it – check out my ribbon shares - I think there is 1 spot left!), Embossing folder:  Houndstooth.   With the heat this week, I hope this brings you some cool vibes!  The stamp set I used is called the Best of Everything.  This is another versatile set – you'll see some great samples done with it at my Open House Sunday and Monday.

I sure hope everyone is keeping cool out there!   My oldest daughter is off camping this weekend – with the heat, storms coming and high water, I sure hope they have fun and stay safe.  As for me, I'm happy staying home in the AC.  Got a 10 mile bike ride in this morning and now am settling in to do some more preps for the open house and upcoming events.

I have some good news and bad news to share;  Good news – I have a job interview next week!  I am very hopeful that this one is fruitful.  The bad news, I have a heavy heart.  I have apparently broken a rule that I didn't even know about – what hurts about this are 2 things;  A.  I'm not a rule breaker  and B.  The person who discovered that I broke a rule didn't have the common courtesy to let me know personally.   So, I have fixed my boo boo and am praying for the person that I offended.

So on to brighter things;  I promised more pics from convention make-n-takes.  I attended a fun extra class called Village of Cuteness – I think it turned out really cool – what do you think?

Isn't it fun what you can create with Stampin' Up! products?  Well, I am promising that there will be more FUN 3D items – and home decor coming very soon!

Blessings!

Convention Goodies!

on Jul 21st 2011

First, I thought I would start off with one of the cards we are doing at my class tonight.  I was inspired by a sample I saw at Stampin' Up!'s convention.  I have no idea how many pictures I took of the awesome samples. . . . stay tuned for more pics and samples in future posts!

This card uses the stamp set Easy Events – it was one of the stamp sets I received FREE at convention!  I paired it with Petite Pairs which is a new word set that is one of the very best word sets I have seen in a very long time!

I still have room in my card class tonight – so RSVP – quickly!

One of the highlights of convention are the make-n-takes.  This year one of our make-n-takes involves products from the new catalog combined with a sneak peak from the Holiday Mini Catalog!   Check this out!   Imagine giving a special gift in this box!  Your friend will love you forever!   Then imagine the packaging you will receive on your next package from that very special friend!

Yes, the box is sized just right for cards!   The cover is showcasing some of our great new fabric – AND to make this project easy, the box comes with a template to cover the lid!!   YES!!!   The box is ONE of the items in the awesomist (a new word) new mini catalog ever!   What do you think of the flower on top?

Yes, it was a bit of work – but, so cute on top of the box!   Love the bauble in the middle from our Simply Adorned line.  Great use of the new lace scallop punch – Just love it!  See this and many of the other drool worthy samples at my Open House July 24 and 25 4-7pm.

Salt Lake City – Day 1!

on Jul 12th 2011

A great trip out to Salt Lake City today!   Uneventful flight.  Got into the hotel early, ironed my clothes, went to the store and got everything squared away.  My teammates arrived throughout the day and we all went to dinner this evening.  This amazing group of women are soooo excited for tomorrow!   The energy was really high!

Tonight we walked around the temple square area smelling the beautiful flowers and remarking at the beauty of the city and the tabernacle area.  We had a tour of the Joseph Smith building which used to be the Hotel Utah.  Fascinating history.  Everyone loved it and said that we didn't have enough time to see and do everything they wanted so they are all making plans for next year already.

Here are a couple of the downline gifts I gave my teammates – every girl needs a great purse!  This one is made with the Stampin' Up! fabric, and you might see some of them at my upcoming craft fairs.

Of course the girls are loving them!   Check out the posies on the front.  These posies are so cute and easy – just made with circles.  OK, off to get ready for the BIG day tomorrow.  We have momento mall, get our bags, go to the home office for a tour, swap and the best part – reconnecting with my girlie friends from around the country!

Blessings!

Easter at the Peters House

on Apr 25th 2011

So, have you been missing me just a wee bit?  Twas a busy week last week.  Of course there was a multitude of things to do at work. . . . then my dad came for a visit on Thursday.  Then assorted family gatherings and meals throughout the weekend culminating with Easter dinner (for 17) on Easter Sunday.  What a glorious day – besides the promise of a risn Saviour, the sun was shining, the kids were outside and family all around.

I meant to take a few pics but, successfully didn't ever get the camera out.  Here is a peak at what some of my table decorations looked like.

If I must say so, the table looked fantastic!  The napkin rings are actually shower curtain rings.  The flowers are from the Fun Flowers Die and the Island Blooms die (leaf).  As you know, I love texture – so, you can see that each piece is texturized.  One hint is that you need a little flexibility when you adhere the flowers with hot glue to the rings, so I used scraps of fleece.  The eggs had each persons initials on them and were setting on a candle holder decked out with a simple rich razzelberry striped ribbon.  Don't you wish you were here?

Tomorrow, you won't want to miss the Easter cards I made. Especially if you have been oogling over the summer mini catalog that has been delivered to your door!

Blessings!

Windowpane for me

on Apr 12th 2011

I had a great night last night with my downline.  We get together to chat and stamp once a month and this is one of the projects we made last night.  I love chatting with the girls – and seeing how excited they get when we do really cool projects together.  This windowpane project was one of the make-n-takes from Meg Loven's meeting that I attended last weekend.  I can't remember the name of the person who designed them 0 but, this is a fabulous project!

Check out the windowpanes in the Occasions Mini Catalog - they are on page 28.  I sincerely thought I had posted pics of some samples with them before – and I just checked – NOTHING!!!   oops.  So, stay tuned for a couple of days of pics using these windowpanes.  You will be inspired!  The Occasions Mini Catalog is in it's last few weeks so, make sure you check these out and get them soon!

The windowpanes come in a package of 12 with 4 each of 3 difference sizes. . . . they really showcase a focal point on a card – or as shown here create a great artwork necklace!

I also used one of my favorite letter sets on this project – Lovely Letters.  The style is just sooo cool!  And that's the first edition DSP behind the pane – another Occasions Mini Catalog item.

So, as I mentioned, it is almost time to say goodbye to the Occasions Mini Catalog – that means that the Summer Mini Catalog will be hitting a mailbox near you in the next week.  Make sure you watch for it!   I got my box of pre-order things yesterday – I'm so excited about the punches!!!!!  New embossing folder.  Stamp sets.  Colored embossing powder!  Woo Hoo!  Sneak Peaks coming soon!

Blessings!

Easter Hats – oh so cute!

on Apr 7th 2011

Are you ready for this?  An awesome idea that we did the last 2 nights at club.   Love them!   Don't you wish you were there?  (hint:  there's always room!)  My friend Christy Harsch taught me how to make these cutie pies.    Here's what I used;

Cardstock:  Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight

Sizzix Dies:  Scallop Circle, Perfect Polka Dots

Punches:  5 Petal Punch, Boho Blossoms, 2 3/8" extra Large scallop

Accessories:  Fabric Designer Brads from Occasions Mini Catalog, Subtles Collection Glimmer Brads, 5/8" Daffodil Delight Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Store Containers (103649 p 193 of IB & C)

Won't these be cute at your Easter table, for a shower, or just for fun?  I just have to say – they're Stinkin' Cute!

In other news, there are no updates on Jim's job yet – maybe we're safe but, I don't feel very safe!  Your favorite door greeter (aka doggie Barlow) had his check up yesterday and with the increasing seizures, he is now on medication – so we'll see how that goes.  He's been a little more "clingy" lately which in part looks like laying right next to me in the stamp room!

Class Updates coming tomorrow – or later today. . . Plus, I have posts lined up for the remainder of the week that you won't want to miss!!!

Blessings!

Four Frames sneak peak. . . .

on Mar 30th 2011

You are going to LOVE – love several things about todays post. . . . First – it is a sneak peak of the April special – which in itself is a sneak peak from the new catalog.  Second – this is a super quick gift idea (hostess, teacher, friend, etc).  Imagine your friend receiving this cool gift!  Won't you feel sooooo great!

So, check it out.  It is made using our stamp cases.  Don't worry, you don't have to empty out one of your stamp sets to do this – they are available to purchase ( 119105 p 192 in the Idea Book & Catalog).  These cases have a sleeve built into them so, they are perfect for this easy project!  Next, you'll see the tag on the front – it is one of the 4 stamps in the new Four Frames stamp set which is the sneak peak from the new IB &C. . . . you can purchase it when you have a $20 order in April!  All 4 frames punch out using the Decorative Label punch (120907) in the Occasions Mini Catalog – -it's a MUST have in my humble opinion!

Inside are 4 notecards and envelopes.  These are just the PERFECT size.  Did you know that you can buy them as a set?  Check them out on p 171 of the IB & C (107311).  You can make these from any of our Designer Series Papers – I used the Springtime Vintage from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Here's another little bonus – this whole set is made from 1 sheet of DSP – yep – pretty cool huh!  Want to know how to cut that DSP just right?  Well stay tuned – there may be a class in your near future!

Here are 2 of the cards sitting next to the case. . . . isn't it soooo cute!!!!   My downline made these last Saturday at our meeting – they LOVED them!   Your chance is on April 16 at 9:30am.  Based on the comments at my card class last night, I would expect rsvp's to come in quickly – so make sure you get your spot!

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!   Blessings today!

Botanical Gazette Frame

on Mar 26th 2011

Here's when 2 things come together to make a thing of beauty!   There was a DSP I LOVED awhile back, so I purchased 3 square frames thinking I was going to frame some of the DSP for a collage in my living room. . . . hmmmm the time flew by and that just didn't happen.    Enter Botanical Gazette DSP from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  This paper really grew on me and I really loved both sides of the paper and wanted to find a way to showcase the two sides.  So – here is where the Frame and the paper came together – what do you think?  This could be a very cool gift.  And you could adapt it for any size of frame.

This frame happened to be 10 x 10 – so my squares are 2 x 2.  Of course I had to add a few trinkets and treasures. . . . got to love those accessories!   I wouldn't be a female if I didn't!   Here's a list of accessories along with a little explanation (when needed);

  • Baja Breeze and Pear Pizzaz markers – I used them to color in the flower in the lower right corner.  This was cut out form the DSP.
  • Champagne Mist Shimmer paint – I added some to the flowers, plus to a few of the images in the background – it just adds to the vintage feel .
  • Pearls – gotta have them if you don't already!!!!!!
  • Neutrals buttons
  • Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzaz seam binding
  • Tinket Crowns – from the mini catalog
  • Vintage Trinkets p 187 if the IB &C.  I used the brads and a safety pin
  • Rosettes from mini catalog
  • Tinket Key from mini catalog hung from 1/8" taffeta ribbon
  • Antique Brads
  • Paper Daisy

Whew!  a fun little list of accessories!   What is your favorite accessory from the list?

Blessings!
