I love what I do! I attended my first Stampin' Up! workshop with my daughter in 2000. I was a scrapbooker and found Stampin' Up!'s products to be amazing. I loved the quality, the coordination, the variety and well most everything. I tried to find comprable products elsewhere and I didn't find them anywhere. In March of 2003, I joined the Stampin' Up! family so that I could get a discount on my long (very long) wish list. When my friends got together with me for a crafting day and we used some of my new Stampin' Up! products, we were hooked. More importantly, I found something that was missing in my life – a creative outlet that provided me with tons of warm fuzzies when I had the opportunitiy to inspire others with creative projects (yes even those that tell me they have no creative abilities).
Over the years, my business has grown beyond my wildest expectations and is now a bright spot in each and every day. My husband, Jim and I are very grateful for the opportunities we have been afforded through this creative outlet. Our customers (many who are now our friends), Stampin' Up! staff, friends across the country, fabulous trips are some of the blessings we are grateful for everyday.

Did you see this banner kit in the Sale-a-Bration catalog? It is one of the free items you can get. Lately I've been in a banner creating mood – and I thought, I want to do something different with this kit. Here are a couple of examples I did.
This card uses one of the canvas pieces as well as the chevron strip and doily. I added the greeting from another Sale-a-Bration freebie – See Ya Later Stamp set. I also used the Decorative Dots embossing folder – another freebie in the Sale-a-Bration catalog for the texture in the heart. Don't you love this? I really like the combination of the Coastal Cabana and the Cherry Cobbler.
Here I used the felt ball – cut in half for the center of a flower on this gift bag. The bag is from the Celebrations Basic Kit. You can see the banner I made with that kit here. I also used the bag to make a gift bag with the spiral flower die. You can see that project here.
This kit is has a ton of potential and lots of pieces that you can use in many different ways! The kit has a value of $19.95 and you get it free during Sale-a-Bration with a $50 order – not that is a great deal when you think of how much you can do with it!

Crafting cards for those I love always brings a smile to my face – and this one is an example. I knew I wanted a window card created with the heart framelits. The Language of Love (W 133074 $16.95 C 133077 $12.95) stamp set from the Occasions catalog was the perfect fit for this layout.
I love how the size of the hearts coordinate with punches or the heart framelits. If you don't yet have hte heart framelits – you need to get them and add them to your collection!
Here is the inside. I love that when you open the card, you have such beauty on the inside as well.
You can see a close up here. I also used an embossing folder on the bottom. The sentiment is from Hip Notes in the Occasions catalog as well.
I encourage you to get your paper crafting items out and staft creating your special Valentine cards. Send me a note – or post a picture on my facebook page – BJ's Stampin' Spot.

Simple Stems from the Occasions catalog coordinates with the Secret Garden Framelits? Oh my, I do love having a 2 for one deal! You may remember the Secret Garden stamp set and framelits from the main catalog (p 94). So, now we have 2 stamp sets – with different looks that coordinate with 1 framelit set! Now that is a deal!
I love the simple and clean look of this card. Quietly elegant is what one of my customers said. (I think she liked the card a lot!) Here is what I used;
- Cardstock & Ink; Whisper White, Crisp Cantelope, Pistaschio Pudding, Basic Grey
- Stamp Sets: Simple Stems, Four You
- Big Shot; Secret Garden Framelits
- Accessories; Corner Rounder from Envelope Punch Board, Calypso Coral Bakers Twine, Gold Sequin Trim, Stampin' Dimensionals
You can see that after I cut out the flower with the framelit that I cut out additional layers of the flower and popped them up with stampin' dimensionals. The addition of a couple of sequins (easily adhered with a glue dot) add just the perfect finishing touch to the card. The sequins are from the Gold Sequin trim from the Occasions catalog – I just simply took 3 of them off the string that holds them together! Love it!
Do you want to know a secret? I have a super duper exciting class coming in February with the Simple Stems stamp set – and you will receive info on how to create similiar cards with the Secret Garden stamp set! Oh and should I also tell you it is in a cute little box? Hmmmm I sneak peaked my club members and I heard; "sign me up!" More details to follow. I will hold 2 sessions for this class based on initial popularity. . . stay tuned!
Here are the deals for the week! January 21-27!
I do have an order going in so if you are local and want to get in on the weekly deals, just email or call me!
Oh, can you do me a favor? Leave me a note about the card I posted today – tell me what you think!

Today I am sharing a sympathy card that I recently created. I have to admit that making these types of cards is always a bummer to me. So, when I sit down to make one, I always make several so that I have one on hand. This time, I was all out.
I used Happy Watercolor stamp set (W 133188 $29.95 C 133191 $21.95)from the Occasions Catalog. The image I embossed the image with Pewter embossing powder on vellum cardstock. I then colored on the back with the Stampin' Write marker. When you do this, you want to be careful as it will take time to dry. I punched this out with the 1 3/4" circle punch. I then used the (wonderful) new starburst framelits (p 34 – can be purchased as a bundle) to add additional color behind the vellum.
I love the softness of the Pool Party with the whisper white. I also combined an embossing folder – Fancy Fan with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die (p 26 Occasions 132965 $24.95).
The result is soft and sweet – just how some sympathy cards should be.
The monthly Chicks, Chocolate and Cards class is this Thursday evening – I still have 3 openings if you are interested, make sure you RSVP.

I had a Dove Chocolate this morning and the message on the inside said; "share a secret". Would you like to participate? OK, here you go. . . .this is a sneak peak for Sale-a-Bration that starts in only 10 days! (It's the BIGGEST sale of the year!)
The stamp set I used is called Banner Blast. It is one of the stamp sets that you can get free with a $50 purchase between January 28 and March 31. The Banner punch is also a freebie and as an added bonus, it will be available in the next catalog – which obviously means there will be more stamp sets that will match it.
This card was made by Tatiana Keene – one of my downline and shared at our get together this weekend. She used Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar. This card also features the Decorative Dots embossing folder (another freebie during Sale-a-Bration) and the new (LOVE IT) Bakers Twine with a gold strand running through it. Yep – it's a winner – oh and so is Tatiana!
Thanks for sharing in my secret today!

And I love simple and cute! This is one of the cards that my customers loved in my workshops this week. They loved the color combo – Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush. Plus they thought it was simple but very cute!
You will find Petite Petals in the Occasions catalog on page 33. It coordinates so well with the very popular stamp set – Flower Shop in the regular catalog (check it out!) If you have Flower Shop – layer the 2 together and you will be squealing with delight! More good news . . . . this comes in a bundle with the punch! Yea for an additional 15% off! W 124821 $24.50 C 134822 $21.25. Oh and did you note that I used that ever popular Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in the background! Oh my – there are so many uses for that stamp set!

Lately I have been spending a bit of time praying about how grateful I am for so many things – and people in my life. When I saw this new stamp set in the Occasions catalog with the title "So very grateful" and the wonderful artwork and sayings in it, I knew it had to come to my house! I am going to guess when you peak at this, you are going to feel the same way. Today, I am going to share a card I created to share with someone whom I am very grateful for in my life. I think to often we get busy and don't take the time to pause and consider the blessings we have and let those who have great impact on our lives, know how much they are appreciated. You probably have someone who needs a special card like this too. . . .
I love how is is simple but delicate and sweet. Here is the So Very Grateful stamp set;
I love how it coordinates with the Bitty Banners Framelits. The Heart is from the Heart framelits. (framelits are a fantastic buy – cheaper than a die but oh so many uses).
As you can see, I embossed the image on the heart with pewter embossing powder and colored in with markers. Simple, but stunning on this card. Here are the supplies I used;
Cardstock and Ink; Wisteria Wonder, Very Vanilla, Silver Foil Sheets, Soft Subtles DSP stack
Stamp Set; So Very Grateful W 133050 #22.95 C 133053 $16.95 p 32 Occasions
Accessories; Pewter Embossing Powder, Bitty Banners and Heart Framelits, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Beautifully Baroque Embossign folder, Corner rounder from envelope punch board
I hope that I have inspired you to take a moment and be grateful. Make sure you tell someone special how much they do mean to you – and send them a beautiful card like this!
