Witchin’ Time!

Posted by BJ on Monday, October 5th, 2009

I have been thinking of this witch for weeks – even had the papers cut!  My friend Sandy and John are here for a night and after we set up for club tomorrow night, we played just a little bit.  It’s fun to play with Stampin’ Up! friends?

The witch uses the Bag in Scallops die, 1 3/4" circle die (face), 2 5/16" neutral brads embossed in green galore, word window punch (nose), scallop circle die (skirt), texturz plate on skirt, ribbon slide from hodgepodge hardware for belt, oval punches for arms, boho blossoms for hands, wide oval for broom wrapped around a twig, and a strip of DSP for the hat!  Ain’t she cute!!!!!

So, the playing didn’t stop there. . . . . we went from a witch to angelic.  Check out this angel!  We used some of the same dies, punches and embellishments!  She is shining in shimmery paint and embossed polka dots!

Then, I thought I could improve the reindeer with our new sweet treat cups. . . . and yup!   Cinnamon candies worked great in the cup for Rudolph’s nose!

So, what do you think!  Did we do it or what?

Where’s BJ been?

Posted by BJ on Monday, October 5th, 2009

I have to say that I have the BEARY Best Customers and Blog readers!  I have heard from many of you checking in on my absence of posting.  I Love you guys!

So, here’s the scoop;

Founders Circle - Sept 16-20  OMG, This was the beary best Stampin’ Up! trip ever!  The details of the planning, the fabulous location (St. George Utah) and the best demonstrators – and new friends I made.  It was the PERFECT experience.  I wish that each of you could have enjoyed it with me.

Peters Annual Booya - Sept 26 – Jim and I hosted about 150 friends for our annual paty on the 26th.  It was a very fun event but, it takes a lot of work to get ready. . . so, I missed posting for a couple of days.  Then on Monday, my sister in law had a brain aneuysm.  She is doing OK, though she is still in the hospital (prayers appreciated).

Influenza - most of you know that in my "other" job, I manage the employee health department for a large health system.  With seasonal and H1N1 influenza vaccinations and illness ramping up, I am working long hours.  Oh, I can’t wait for the day that I can stamp, demonstrate and be creative all day long – everyday!  :)

So, hang in there. . . I’m still here.  I just might not be posting as frequently as I used to!  But, I’ll be back!!!!    :)

Growth Chart

Posted by BJ on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

This awesome growth chart is available until Sept 30!  Here are a couple of examples from my Stampin’ Up! friends.  The first pictures shows the Growth Chart on a painted piece of plywood (my friend was concerned they wouldn’t be in their home the length of time they wanted to use the growth chart).  The third and fourth pictures show another use for it – pretty ingenious!

If you haven’t yet checked out the Definately Decorative line and the catalog just release on July 1, I would encourage you to check it out.  I love the way I can redecorate quickly and easily – and without the cost or hassle of paint.  They can be removed anytime you desire a different look!

A humbling honor. . . .

Posted by BJ on Friday, August 28th, 2009

Here’s some exciting news. . . .I was humbled and surprised to learn at convention that I was in the top 100 demonstrators in the United States for  the last Stampin’ Up! year (July 08 to June of 09).  This is called the Founders Circle.  You find out by being handed a new bag at the awards booth during convention.  You can see my bag here with my new Build a Bear.

During the awards night celebration, I found out I was number 83.  This is based on my sales, downline promotions, sales and leadership.  I was VERY excited.  This is the first time and was a goal for me – "someday".

As a result, I will be traveling to the Founders Circle Retreat Sept 16-20 in St. George Utah.  I am truly honored to have acheived this honor.  Thanks to all of you for your support, encouragement and most of all your friendship.

Stamp Storage and Weekend Plans

Posted by BJ on Thursday, August 27th, 2009

I get many questions about how I store my stamps.  Plus, I think most of you think I own it all. . . well, that’s not exactly true but I do store my stamps this way.  It has worked well for me over the years.  The labels my customers like (when I demo a stamp set, the ordering info with page number is right on the stamp set) are on the ends and i store them alphabetically.

You can see a little piece of how I store my 12 x 12 cardstock off to the side.  I have 6 bins – 1 for each of the colore families, 1 for neutrals and 1 for textured cardstock (one of my favs).

This weekend – yes!  I can’t wait!  My Dad is coming tonight – a little salsa making going on, then tomorrow I will be at Woodbury Days – booth #65 for Friday and Sunday.  Stop by and see me you never know what the specials are going to be!
