Valentine Gifts

on Feb 11th 2012

It's been a fun day of crafting as I made gifts for my honey for Valentines day.  While I did buy a gift, I wanted to create something heartfelt.  So, here is the outside of my gift;

I simply used a heart shaped box and covered it with Everyday Enchantment paper.  I also used the ribbon and brad from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad pack.  The banner came from the Take it to Heart set and the greeting came from the Loving Thought stamp set.  Here's a close up of the flower

I punched 3 flowers each from the Mixed Bunch punch and the 5-petal flower punch.  I scrunched them and pulled the paper apart.  Layering and securing with the brad.  I also spritzed them with Vanilla Shimmer paint.  I secured the whole project to a Pool Party scalloped heart cut from the Hearts Framelits.  I love how it turned out.

Inside I am going to put little slips of paper with things I love about my honey.  I'm excited to give this to him!

I hope this inspired you to create a special gift for your honey too.

Blessings!

Valentine Treat

on Feb 10th 2012

Here's another quick Valentine treat for you to consider making this weekend.  It's one that I have done before but, worth repeating.

The scalloped envelope die is used to create the "wrap" for this Valentine treat.  Here is what I used to make this treat;

Stamp Set:  P.S. I love you

Paper & Ink:  Lucky Limeade, Springtime Vintage (Free during Sale-a-Bration with qualifying order), Poppy Parade, Pool Party

Punches & Dies;  Scallop Envelope Die, Blossom Party Die, Label Punch

Accessories:  Printed Brads – Free with qualifying order during Sale-a-Bration

It's actually pretty simple and easy – I plan to crank out a few of these this weekend for my co-workers – I can't wait to give them out!

Blessings!

Mixed Bunch

on Feb 3rd 2012

When I was preparing for hostess clubs this week, I wanted to show a "bunch" of samples using this set so that I could show my customers the versatility of this set.  When I created this card, I loved the look.  While it's simple, the boldness of it just catches my eye. . . . don't you agree with me?

I used the same technique I described a couple of days ago to create the interest at the top of the card.  The only difference is that I used the Adorning Accents Edgelit.  The stem is from the Sweetheart stamp set – dig it out as it was a favorite a few years ago and goes so perfectly with this set!  I finished it off with the Springtime Vintage DSP and an Everyday Enchantment brad – 2 of the free items from Sale-a-Bration!

I also want to call your attention to the greeting on this card.  It is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  What I love about this greeting set is;

  • It is available in a digital download – and will be a great addition to My Digital Studio pages
  • It's a little out of the ordinary but, is perfect for cards where I want something just a bit different than "happy birthday", "have a great day", etc.

Hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did – and if you did, why not may someone's day.  Be a Daymaker!   How do you do that?  Well – make 2 of these cards – one for you and one for a friend and pop it in the mail.  Then sit back and imagine the look on your friends face and the warm fuzzy feeling they will have when they receive this gorgeous card!

Blessings!

Labels Framlits

on Feb 2nd 2012

Here is a great way to use your labels framlits in a slightly different way.  Note the poppy parade cardstock at the top of the card.

I simply put the top of my cardstock through the framelit and cut it – only rolling it partway through the big shot!  So simple – but what a great addition to this card!   LOVE it!!!!!

Here's a close up of what I am talking about. . .

Don't you love how cool the Springtime Vintage DSP looks on this card?   Cool beans!  So many possibilities.  If you haven't yet ordered your framelits – labels or hearts – they are a must have!   Stay tuned for more great looks in the near future.

In the meantime, I am looking for some special person or people. . . . now don't go rushing to any conclusions.  While it could be a man I am looking for – it's not to replace my current prince – aka Jim.  Here is what I am looking for;

  • Someone who would love to receive Stampin' Up!'s Success magazine for 3 months – yes for the first time ever and for a limited time, I get to choose 1 person to get this magazine, that I get so many ideas from, FREE for 3 months.  No strings attached – but, the hope is that you'll be inspired to join the Stampin' Up! family!
  • I'm also looking for some special person(s) to join my team before February 22.   It's such a great time – during Sale-a-Bration,  Only $125 for over $360 worth of supplies and a 20% discount on your wish list!!!!  Yep, and you are a demo until the new catalog comes out so you'll get in on the fantabulous sneak peak – in other words, you get the goods before everyone else!!!!  And if that's not enough, each month for a year Stampin' Up! is going to give you a gift – either DSP or a digital download!    What are you waiting for?  It does sound a bit like to good to be true – but, trust me – it's not!

Give me a call if you want more details on either of these offers.  You can join my team for product training on Wednesday February 8 at 7pm.

Blessings!

Vintage Flower

on Jan 12th 2012

I LOVE the free DSP from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog – look at how cool this card is!   I used one of the patterned papers and made a rosette out of eight 1 3/8" circles!   Adding a little of the yummy new ribbon from the mini catalog and a tone on tone textured background and the result is a gorgeous card!

I'm off to bed tonight but, you'll have to check back in the next few days – I think I'll try out some of the other DSP patterns!

Wedding Invitation

on Feb 21st 2011

This was a favorite at a wedding fair I did yesterday in Hudson, Wisconsin.  The wedding fair was lots of fun – I really enjoyed meeting people excited about their futures.  The energy was amazing!

This invitation is 5 x 7 and has a nice pocket for the extra info you need to send with your invitation.  You'll love the quality and weight of Stampin' Up!'s cardstock as you personalize your wedding with your own invitations.  It's an economical choice too!

The elegant details on this card really stand out.  This invitation was originally designed by my friend Dena Rekow.  I had to refine it just slightly.  If you have a wedding or other event in your future that needs a special invitation, give me a call for a consultation.  We'll create a sample you'll be happy with.  Then you can use my classroom to put your invites together – my gift to you is that all of your cardstock will be cut for you!

On another note, winter has struck again here in Minnesota – OMG – can we be done already!  There has to be another foot out there.  The one thing I did love about this storm is that my daughter came to stay with us so that she was closer to work.  It sure was fun relaxing last night with Jim and Mandy – keep in mind she is 27 and this just doesn't happen much anymore!  She even came and watched the news in bed with me this morning!
