Easter at the Peters House
BJ on Apr 25th 2011
So, have you been missing me just a wee bit? Twas a busy week last week. Of course there was a multitude of things to do at work. . . . then my dad came for a visit on Thursday. Then assorted family gatherings and meals throughout the weekend culminating with Easter dinner (for 17) on Easter Sunday. What a glorious day – besides the promise of a risn Saviour, the sun was shining, the kids were outside and family all around.
I meant to take a few pics but, successfully didn't ever get the camera out. Here is a peak at what some of my table decorations looked like.

If I must say so, the table looked fantastic! The napkin rings are actually shower curtain rings. The flowers are from the Fun Flowers Die and the Island Blooms die (leaf). As you know, I love texture – so, you can see that each piece is texturized. One hint is that you need a little flexibility when you adhere the flowers with hot glue to the rings, so I used scraps of fleece. The eggs had each persons initials on them and were setting on a candle holder decked out with a simple rich razzelberry striped ribbon. Don't you wish you were here?
Tomorrow, you won't want to miss the Easter cards I made. Especially if you have been oogling over the summer mini catalog that has been delivered to your door!
Blessings!
Oh so cute blossoms!
BJ on Apr 8th 2011

Love this gorgeous card inspired by my friend Tami White! This is one of the great techniques I learned last weekend. I love the new technique for using the Blossom Petals punch! Each flower uses to of the petal punches – the top layer has the very top cut down to allow the cute ribbon stamen to show.

Here's what you need to create this card;
- Cardstock & Ink: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Pear Pizzaz, Blushing Bride, Ink Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray
- Sizzix:Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder
- Punches: Blossom Petals, Two Step Bird
- Stamp Set: Something to Celebrate (Level 2 hostess from Occasions Mini Catalog)
- Accessories: Dimensionals, 3/8" Taffeta ribbon in Daffodil Delight
Tami created the embossed edge by placing a piece of our chipboard on top of the embossing folder just like we have done before. I love this partial embossed edge. To make the ribbon stamens, Start with a 3/4" piece of ribbon, cut the woven edge off the ribbon on both sides for the first 1/2 inch. Then it is easy to fray the top to get the look created on the card.
Another ahh haa moment I had came from Connie. She showed how to use the Multipurpose adhesive sheets to put adhesive on small pieces. I used this technique on the stems for the flowers which were created from the two step bird punch. These sheets are available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. You get 12 sheets – and I know that you are going to love them. Check them out on page 39.

Stay tuned for my class date updates later today. . . . . you won't want to miss it, I have some exciting things in store!
On another note – go TWINS! Home opener today, wearing my Twins shirt to work. . . . . which is where I am off to right now.
Many Blessings today!
Easter Hats – oh so cute!

Are you ready for this? An awesome idea that we did the last 2 nights at club. Love them! Don't you wish you were there? (hint: there's always room!) My friend Christy Harsch taught me how to make these cutie pies. Here's what I used;
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight
Sizzix Dies: Scallop Circle, Perfect Polka Dots
Punches: 5 Petal Punch, Boho Blossoms, 2 3/8" extra Large scallop
Accessories: Fabric Designer Brads from Occasions Mini Catalog, Subtles Collection Glimmer Brads, 5/8" Daffodil Delight Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Store Containers (103649 p 193 of IB & C)
Won't these be cute at your Easter table, for a shower, or just for fun? I just have to say – they're Stinkin' Cute!
In other news, there are no updates on Jim's job yet – maybe we're safe but, I don't feel very safe! Your favorite door greeter (aka doggie Barlow) had his check up yesterday and with the increasing seizures, he is now on medication – so we'll see how that goes. He's been a little more "clingy" lately which in part looks like laying right next to me in the stamp room!
Class Updates coming tomorrow – or later today. . . Plus, I have posts lined up for the remainder of the week that you won't want to miss!!!
Blessings!

Check it out! This gorgeous stamp set fits in the Decorative Label punch. You've seen me use this punch oodles of times because it is such a great size for a greeting, focal point or just a simple addition to a card. If you look at the card sample above (my downline made this at our last meeting), you'll see that it is a nice accent – and carries the sentiment so well.
The sample card also uses the Paisley Petals DSP – I like the colors in it. The flower is made from the Fun Flowers die (Occasions Mini Catalog) with a gorgeous brad from the antique brads in the middle! Yummy! Check out these close-ups of the card.

In other news!!!!!! If you are a SUPER shopper – check this out!!!
Starting TODAY and continuing while supplies last, you can get a grab back of Stampin' Up! products – there are sizes to fit any budget – starting at just $5!!!!!

Last Day!!! Last Chance!!
BJ on Mar 31st 2011

Here's one of the Make-n-Takes from my last chance event last night. Don't you wish you were there? Today is your LAST CHANCE to get in on the best sale of the year – Sale-a-Bration! Email or call me with your order by 7pm – there will be a surprise for you – let's just say you'll be doing the happy dance when you get off the phone!

This card was inspired by one I saw posted recently. I changed it up a bit. It sure is a cute and quick card though! I love the cupcake stamp set and punch from the mini catalog – you have a month left to get it – but why not get it today because it's the last day of Sale-a-Bration!
Jim got the boat out of storage yesterday and was busy getting it cleaned and ready for the fishing season – a sure sign of spring at the Peters house. Now the garage is officially stuffed again with 2 vehicles, boat, 4 wheeler (can't put that in summer storage as it requires driving over wet grass – and we wouldn't want to ruin Jim's lawn!) and of course the grill along with a lot of other man things (mess).
So, this is a quick post today as it is a BUSY day! Work, then put in the last of the Sale-a-Bration orders, then pack for my trip to Illinois this weekend. I also have to put the finishing touches on my presentation. . . . good thing I hit the gym early this morning!
Blessings!
Last chance for Sale-a-Bration Class
BJ on Mar 29th 2011

Here's another sample of a card that you can make at my card class tonight – have 2 spots left so, let me know!
This card was inspired by Dawn Olchefske. I loved her idea so much – that I actually changed very little on it. You're going to be surprised when I tell you how the cross was made . . . . it is made with the lattice die. I used it recently on this Fun Flowers card. I like the versatility of this card. . . from Baptism, birthday, wedding, sympathy and so much more!
Here are the ingredients;
- cardstock & ink: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree DSP. Baja Breeze
- Sizzix; Lattice, Finial Press embossing folder
- Punches; Scallop oval, large oval, 1 3/8" circle, Boho Blossoms, 1/4" circle
- Accessories; Pearls
Enjoy your day! Many Blessings!
Continuing on the Vintage theme
BJ on Mar 25th 2011

Here's another bit of Vintage. Look at the background very closely (OK, so not that the words go sideways – but the embossing that is highlighted by the outlining). The red flower really stands out too! So, how did I do it? First, here's the products you will need;
- Cardstock; Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Real Red, First Edition DSP from the Occasions Mini Catalog
- Ink: Basic Black, White Craft
- Big Shot: Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Fun Flowers Die, Petal Cone Die
- Accessories: Neutrals Glimmer Brad
- Stamp Set: Three Little Words (you can get free during Sale-a-Bration)
Now for a few details. Interestingly enough, when you coat the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder with Basic Black ink, it highlights the embossing vs, coating the paper like it does with other colors. Don't ask me why because I just don't know! I used the largest and the second to largest flowers on the Fun Flowers die (it's from the Occasions Mini). . . . I texturized them with the embossing folder AND did a little crumpling to make them stand out just a bit. I added them to my project with Dimensionals.
Hope you are liking the vintage flavor lately! Let me know!
Blessings!
Hmmmm – Cupcake!
BJ on Mar 10th 2011

Oh, this is soooo stinkin' cute! After you learn what this is made of, you should start wondering if I am sleeping with my Petal Cone die – because I am obviously having a hard time using anything else these days! Check out the inside of this card. . . . it pulls out!

When I was done making this – I just couldn't stop smiling! I remembered that after I showed my Ice Cream Cone invitation at the Minneapolis Regional that Shelli had asked my why I never submitted my ideas to the Creative Challenge of her blog. So, I went out there and checked it out. . . the challenge this month was cupcakes! Yep, think I need to send this one!
Aren't you just dying to see how it's made? Want one of your own? Imagine the smiles on the face of your friends when they receive this delicious card on their package. Come to my last chance for Sale-a-Bration workshop on March 30 (you'll need to RSVP) and you'll make this card as your make-n-take!

Bold Blossoms are coming!
BJ on Mar 10th 2011

I am sooooo looking forward to spring – especially after spending a few days in the sun with my dad! Yes, I have left Phoenix behind and am home and working on the catch up! The addition of some significant bad news this week has left me not at my peak performance. More about that later as, I'm not quite ready to talk about that yet.
So, how about a pick me up? Do me the pleasure of joining me for my card class tonight - this is one of the cards you'll be making (designed by fellow demo Jolene Harms). It uses the Bold Blossoms stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I ordered this set right away for several reasons;
- It's a semi-bold image set that can give me a quick, easy and great looking card without putting a lot of design time into the card
- the greeting with the set means I don't have to pull out a greeting set – unless of course the greeting doesn't fit the situation
- By switching colors, I can make the card bright – like the samples in the book – or a little more subtle like this card
- Small price point
- It can be used with punches – as you know that is one of my fav things to do! On this card you'll see the greeting is shown with punches. But, you can also punch out the flower image with a circle punch.
- I can also spice this up easily with accessories; pearls, brads, rhinestones, glitter, etc

Please join me for some fun!
Fun Flowers
BJ on Mar 4th 2011

Here's one of the Club cards from this month! Isn't it cute? Sorry you missed it if you weren't there. Here's the ingredients for this card;
- cardstock; Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Rose Red Designer Series Paper: Pear Pizzaz
- Sizzix Dies; Fun Flowers from the Occasions Mini Catalog, Lattice, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder
- Punches: 5 Petal Flower, Scallop Trim Border, 1 3/4" circle (behind the lattice die)
- Accessories: Flower Brads, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz
The hints on creating this card are;
- the 1 3/4" circles are adhered to the back of the lattice die cut
- The flowers are die cut, then texturized with the embossing folder and then coated with the smootch spritz to make them shiny and shimmery – oh so cute!
On another note: it was an uneventful flight to Arizona yesterday and am having a good visit with my dad. I'll try to post pictures later. The excitement yesterday was the bingo last night. . . . they take their bingo VERY seriously here. Today started with coffee and rolls at the clubhouse – not too healthy but, had to do it anyway! I did get up early and walk 3 miles this morning – does that count?
Enjoy your day and weekend! Many blessings to you!
