Inspired by Nature
BJ on Apr 21st 2012
Here's another favorite that is going away. If you are a scrapbook – pay attention here because this was one of my favorite sets when I paper scrapbook (doing so much more digitally today).

This project has been hanging on the wall in my studio for a couple of years. I think it highlights the greatness of the Inspired By Nature set so very well. I took the frame and discarded the glass and mat. I then put a think coat of paint in the cream color on the backboard of the frame. Using acrylic paints on my stamp, I then created the picture as you see it here. Here's a close up for you.

You can see the background is really a white washed type look. . . .
What do you think of this cool project? Can you see how great this stamp set helps you create works of art whether it is a picture, scrapbook page or card. It's on the retired list so make sure you check it out soon!

A blast from the past
BJ on Apr 20th 2012

Vintage Vogue has been a favorite stamp set since I got it. I love each of the designs in this set and found it so easy to create awesome layouts with it. There was just something about this set that inspired my creativity. Ever have that happen to you?
Well, the time has come for Vintage Vogue to retire so, I pulled it out the other day and this is the result. I used a color combination of Peach Parfait and Baja Breeze with a little Pear Pizzaz thrown in. Don't you love the result?

I have never done this with ribbon on a flower like this before – so, you see what I mean by inspire my creativity. This is the Pear Pizzaz poly stitched ribbon that will be retiring as well. Don't you love the look?
Make sure you check out the retiring list for your favorite stamp sets before they are gone. The retiring accessory list will be available April 25. Also check out the Summer Smooches Stamp Camp on April 28.

Birthday Gift reveal
BJ on Apr 12th 2012

My sister Sally's birthday is coming up soon and last night, one of my downline gave me this idea. She had done a class with these blocks inspired by a picture in our demonstrator magazine – Stampin' Success. Those blocks said "mom". You could do – "home", "love", "dad" and a myraid of other things! You'll find the Decor blocks on page 181 in the catalog. At only $9.95 – they have so many possibilities!
I used the Twitterpated DSP as my base and let the beauty of the paper choose the colors from there. With the Mixed Bunch stamp set and a few accessories, I think I have something my sister will love. I'm pretty sure she doesn't check my blog very often, so I think I'm safe. I think I'm going to add just a couple of more details. Check back tomorrow for some detail pics!

Summer Smooches Gift Packaging
BJ on Apr 11th 2012

I am continuing to love the bright colors in the Summer Smooches DSP available this month. You've seen the previous posts – now look at what I have done to make this cute handled bag. The big flower was made with 5 strips of 1 x 12 inch DSP from Summer Smooches. I added a greeting focal point using the labels framelits and a background texturized Pear Pizzaz piece. Actually pretty simple and easy. . . How would you like to get a gift in a bag like this? Do you think you would be saving this bag to give to someone else? I think so!
Just a quick post today – have a great day!

A cute gift wrap
BJ on Apr 10th 2012

Happy Easter everyone! We had a quiet weekend – but, exciting. My mother – the church organist always loved Easter for its special promises – and music. I always think of her lots on Easter and this Easter she was on my mind a lot as I moved my faith in a new direction. I hope each of you enjoyed celebrating this special holiday with family and friends.
I had a gift to give someone special on Easter. I wanted the packaging to be terrific – but, I was running out of time. I found this little box in my "stash". I created a flower for the top, added some texture and ribbon and it turned out terrific!

I used the Fun Flowers Die for the flowers and the Island floral die texturized with the square lattice die for the flower. If you look closely at the flower – it looks very texturized as well. I used 3 of the smallest flowers on the Fun Flowers die. Scrunched them all up and then separated the paper layers so that it revealed the texture in between the papers. So there ends up being 6 flowers.
This die doesn't show very well in the catalog but, is a go to die for me when I want to do something like this.

With spring upon us, I am sure you could see yourself creating all kinds of fun with this die. Many combinations of flowers, colors and textures are possible. Imagine the possibilities!

A Girls Best Friend!

Is a purse. . . . right! You are going to LOVE this new die from Stampin' Up! Available right now. My club members LOVED making their purses this week!

Sorry you missed it. But, you can get the die all month long! Check out the paper too. The patterned paper is from the Summer Smooches DSP also available now! I think these purses would be super cute for showers (wedding or baby – think diaper bag). I was also thinking that I could put some $ in there for upcoming graduation parties. Yep – loving this die!

Check out this video on just how easy it is to make!
Have a great day everyone!

Summer Smooches Decor Stencil
BJ on Apr 4th 2012

One of the cool products available this month is the Summer Smooches Decor Stencil. Hostess Club members who came last night loved the watercolor look of using this stencil on a card. While you can't see it in the photo – it even has a little shimmer! This image certainly creates a great background for this easy card layout. I used the Timeless Portrait DSP and the Tiny Tags stamp set for the remainder of the card. Accented with a little Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and Voila! A quick card with a stunning background!
Hostess Club has one more night tonight – hope to see you! Oh, did I tell you the 3rd project (not shown yet) had my customers squealing with delight!
Blessings!
