Simple Elegance with Elements of Style

Isn't this cute? This was one of my favorites from a swap with fellow demonstrators (I'll post the name of the demo when I return home). I love this card for so many reasons;
- colors – hmmm Old Olive and Rich Razzelberry with a little Crushed Curry thrown in for accent
- it has texture – most of you know I LOVE texture!
- it's a card that a moderately experienced stamper can re-create – that's from me the queen of copying!
- those are all great but, most of all this card will definately give the person that receives this card the message that you really care about them – and I love making people feel great!
Off to the card – It is a stamp set from the Summer mini catalog called Elements of Style (I got it free from Stampin' Up!). Here's a few pointers;
- ladies – dig out your crimper – the background is crimped! Now we forgot about this lovely piece of texture in our creative places too often!
- Love the top note die - it is so versatile! Here you'll cut two – 1 in whisper white and 1 in crushed curry – you can cut both at once with the Big Shot!
- Stamp the image with staz on ink and color away – two ways to add color – aquapainter and reinker from your ink case or watercolor crayon!
- don't forget about the hardware! It adds such a cute accent – the vellum cardstock inside it just adds to the elegance of the card
Don't forget to join me for the Mini Catalog open house on Saturday, May 8 9:30-12:30 – you'll see more like this!

Show your Patriotism

Another great box from the Top Note Die and Box #2 Big Shot XL Die.
Stampin’ Up! worked with Sizzix and an XL Crease pad has been created. You’ll love this crease pad when you are using your Big Shot with a die that has score lines. While it doesn’t show in the catalog, it is available through me. If you have a XL die – you need to get one of these.
This box is the placeholder for your July events. I think the box would look great with some sparkly confetti and summer treats. This box was part of my summer boxing class. We did the May basket, Beach Scene, this flag and a soon to come Sunflower for August. If you missed it, give me a call and I can get you signed up for a class session.
I am honored that Stampin’ Up! has chosen to publish this class for other Stampin’ Up! demos. As you know, my friend Sandy and I created this class after I had so much fun last fall with Frankie (Frankenstein) and Frosty. If you’ve been to my house you’ve seen them lined up on the mantle. . . stay tuned for the fall class coming in early September in which we will make a pumpkin, Frankenstein, Turkey (he’s cute!) and Rudolph (yes his nose is red – and he has glitter!)

May Flowers are about to arrive!
BJ on Apr 21st 2009

Check out May’s box of the month! You’ll believe that spring is here with this decorating your table! I used the Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive Top Note die along with the the Box #2 Die, Beautiful Butterflies Die and the Birds & Blooms Sizzlets. May day is coming don’t you want to honor your family and friends with this creation?
I used scraps to make the flowers – one of the best things about the Big Shot is that you get to use your scraps!
This was one of the boxes in my Summer "Boxing" class. Did you miss it? Give me a call and we can work something out.
Matchbox Big Shot Die
BJ on Apr 10th 2009
Have you checked out the Matchbox Die in the Occasions Mini Catalog? I am amazed at the versatility and how easy this little box goes together! No adhesive needed on the box part – only a little for the cover. Amazing.
The matchbox as shown on the right is easy to decorate – there’s even a coordinating stamp set called Matchbox Messages. This one is made by Julie Schrader who I swapped with in Hawaii. . . but, you’re not out of luck as this month I am featuring a matchbox with a great NEW technique at my workshops – have one of your own or attend one that I have scheduled. If you schedule a workshop with me in April, I will put your name into a drawing the the Matchbox Messages stamp set!
The gorgeous creation on the left is from a wonderful demonstrator and stamper by the name of Denise Jorgensen. She put 4 together and added a top note bottom and top – and voila! Isn’t it gorgeous!
