It’s All About Dad

It’s been a great weekend at my Dad’s house and this is the perfect card to leave for him.  This would be the perfect card to CASE for Father’s Day!   Let’s check it out. . .

The Wood Textures Designer Series Paper stack is full of wood textures some of which I am hoarding!  These textures are perfect for masculine cards!  I added a little more texture by cutting the “DAD” from Black fun foam using the Large Letters framelits.  I added a heart from the Wood Words stamp set stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

Since I was in Northern Minnesota this weekend with my husband at Dad’s place, I had a limited amount of stamp sets that I brought with me.  I was thrilled to see the “You’re the Best” greeting in the All Things Thanks stamp set.  It’s a perfect finishing touch for the front of the card.

Then to my surprise there was a perfect greeting for the inside of the card too!   Check it out. . .  the “I love you so much” comes from the Lovely Friends stamp set!  While I don’t like using so many stamp sets on a card, once in a while it’s ok to break those unwritten rules for the perfect card for a great Dad! Colorful Seasons

Perhaps is the Northern Minnesota influence this weekend but I spent a little time playing with the Colorful Seasons stamp set which is bundled with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies (at a 10% savings).   The lilacs are still blooming up here – and while these aren’t lilacs, I was inspired by the deep purple fragrant lilacs in my Father’s yard.

Life is certainly a beautiful thing – and especially when you take the time from your everyday routines to enjoy the little things the world has to offer.  I love the Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist color scheme.

And here I have combined Lemon Lime Twist with Old Olive and Fresh Fig on the other leaf.  This is a gorgeous but very simple card.  Here is a closeup of the Fresh Fig die cut from the Seasonal Layers thinlits.  I love how there is added dimension with this leaf vs the stamped images on the other leaves.

Can you see yourself using the Colorful Seasons bundle all year around?

Up North

My Prince and I hit the road yesterday heading up North to where my husband lives with my Dad.  For those of you who don’t know, my Dad is getting up there in years and has a beautiful place between 2 lakes in Northern Minnesota.  A perfect fit for my fishing husband.

This is the view in front of me as I sit at the desk area that we have set up.  Pretty nice.  The sunsets are gorgeous.

So fittingly today I am sharing a couple of cards using the Wood Words stamp set which is bundled with the Wood Crate framelits in the new catalog.  The background of the card also showcases a great designer series paper stack – the 6″ x 6″ kind called Wood Textures.  The greeting on this card came from the Lovely Friends stamp set.

I am loving this designer series paper stack. . . I actually had a conversation with myself yesterday about not hoarding it!  When you get it, I think you will feel the same way! Product List

Crafting Forever

I pulled out this new Crafting Forever stamp set and did a little playing – well doing what I love!  And of course I had to use my new favorite color – Lemon Lime Twist!   What a perfect pairing with Basic Black.  And if you haven’t checked out the new Fresh Florals Designer series, I am loving it!   It’s like one of the color family designer series paper stacks we have had in the past.  This one comes in the new 2017-2019 In Colors.

And if you are a lover of the 6″ x 6″ designer series paper stacks, this cardbase layer comes from the Color Theory designer series paper stack.

I used more of the Crafting Forever stamp set.  I love this saying; “Do something Creative Everyday.”   It goes with my new motto;  “Create & Feel Great.”

Enjoy this weekend!

Happy Birthday – Gorgeous!

Here’s another one of the cards that we made at my downline stampin’ bonanza last weekend.  It was designed by my friend LuAnn.   It uses the new Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set which is bundled with the Happy Birthday Thinlit – what a great combination!  And when you purchase as a bundle remember you save 10%!

You can also see one of the new embossing folders – “Oh My Stars.”  Another bonus of this stamp set is that it coordinates with the Balloon Bouquet punch – which you may already have!   Don’t you love it when you can use something you already have with something new?

Tranquil Tulips Beauty

Yesterday evening was a super FUN day!   Members of my team (the North Starz) came over and we had a stamping good time!   We stamped, shared and swapped cards and ideas.  Everyone went home with at least 10 card – some had 18!  All brand new ideas!

This Tranquil Tulips card was one of them.  It’s one of the new Hostess Sets in the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Catalog!  The tulips look so life like!   This card is in Fresh Fig and Old Olive – a super yummy combination.

I know it’s hard to see but I added clear Wink of Stella to the tulips – a perfect accent.   And then I added some Crumb Cake flecks in the background to soften the Whisper White just a bit.  Super simple but stunning card!

If you would like to know more about joining my team (we are a super fun bunch), just let me know!   You can check out the details here.   It’s a great time with the excitement of the new catalog! Product List

Happy Birthday Thinlits!

Happy Birthday Thinlit,

I am loving the new In Colors!   And this card amazingly showcases them beautifully.  This card was inspired by one I saw created by Mary Fish, a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  It’s easy too. . . 3/4″ x 5″ strips!

Can you name the new In Colors yet?  From left to right;  Fresh Fig, Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide.  I can’t pick a favorite because I am loving most of them!

I used the new Happy Birthday Thinlit to create the greeting.  LOVE the font!  Don’t be nervous about adhering this – once you can order the adhesive sheets, adhering this is a breeze!  You’ll want these on your first order for sure!
