We get them (cards) on special occasions, holidays and birthdays, they sit upon our mantle and some of them even get tucked into our store of special memories. Whether it’s Christmas or our Birthday, we always look inside for the gift card from Santa Claus or the money from a grandparent, often before we’ve even read the card (what a social faux pas! You should feel ashamed!) But have you ever considered making your own card? World Card Making Day reminds us that the best gifts come from the heart, and the hands and vision of the people we love, so get out there and try making a card of your own!
How to celebrate World Card Making Day
The best way to celebrate World Card Making Day is, of course, to learn how to make your own cards! The only limit to your cards is your imagination, so let your creativity fly and send your friends and family personalized cards on World Card Making Day!
Stampin’ Up! is celebrating World Card Making Day by providing a sale to help you get your creativity on. This stamp set – Graceful Garden is one of the stamp sets on sale for 15% off October 1-10. Here I (sort of) fussy cut out the flower and popped it up over one of the background stamps in the stamp set.
The designer series paper is from the Bundle of Love specialty designer series paper. . . accented by the Gold Foil punched Decorative Ribbon border. Such a lovely combination. What you can’t see well in these pictures is that I highlighted the flower with Clear Wink of Stella. A perfect finishing touch.
Be sure and check out the World Card Making Day specials October 1-10. You can download the flyer here. We will do a little more celebrating at the Card Buffet October 11 4-8pm or October 12 12-8pm. Come and see what I have in store!
