Welcome to this months Creative Inking Blog Hop featuring Designer Series Papers.  Perhaps you’ve heard about the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper special this month.  It’s a great deal and time to stock up and save!

Pop of Petals, Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, StampinBJ.com

Today’s inspiration has 3 features;

  1. Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (it’s on sale)
  2. Pop of Petals Bundle which includes the Pop of Petals stamp set and the Four-Petal Flower punch
  3. Simple 3″ x 4″ Designer Series Paper layout

The Tropical Escape Designer Series paper is a 6″ x 6″ paper stack. I love these stacks for the value that they bring.  With the 6″ x 6″ size, you get more double sided designs – 12 to be exact and 4 sheets of each.  This designer series paper is one of the paper selections on the Buy 3, Get 1 free designer series paper sale.

At first I was concerned if I would like the Tropical Escape designer series paper – I’m just not a tropical person. What I love about Stampin’ Up!’s designer series papers are the two-sided feature.  I always find that I like one side better than the other. . . when I do like both sides – that’s when I am in trouble!

  • Blushing Bride cardbase is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored & folded at 4 1/4″
  • Tropical Escape designer series paper – 2 coordinating 3″ x 4″ pieces (it’s a simple dimple layout)
  • Vellum cardstock – 2″ circle
  • Smoky Slate cardstock – 1 1/2″ circle
  • Whisper White – 2 flowers and greeting
  • Ink – Blushing Bride, Basic Gray
  • Stamps – Pop of Petals Bundle, Perennial Birthday
  • Accessories – Metallic Ribbon combo pack, Pink Rhinestones, Classic Label Punch, 2″ & 1 1/2″ Circle punchPop of Petals, Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, StampinBJ.com

The Tropical Escape designer series paper shines in this easy 3″ x 4″ layout too!  I simply added a 3/4″ x 4″ strip of one of the contrasting papers.  And who says you can’t have vertical and horizontal strips on the same card?  Check out the leaves – I stamped them in Shaded Spruce on Granny Apple Green cardstock.  I love how those greens look so well together.

Check out the flower – I simply stamped & punched 2 flowers and layered them on top of each other  for a bolder look.  You will want to check out this video for an important tip on lining up the flower with the Four-Petal Flower punch.
