Today is the first week in a new series #simplestamping.  Each week I will be featuring a project that is simple but still gorgeous!   The projects will one use stamps, ink and paper.  I also will answer questions that I get from my customers and throw in an easy technique or two.

Question of the Week – How do you come up with the color combinations that you use?

This is a frequently asked question and the answer is actually very simple.  I use the designer series paper.  One of the best qualities of Stampin’ Up! is the color coordination between inks, paper and accessories.  Stampin’ Up! provides us with amazing colors and designer series papers – why make choosing your colors more difficult when the answer is right in front of you!

For this card I used the Tropical Escape designer series paper stack.  This is a 6″ x 6″ pack of papers.  48 sheets – 4 each of 12 double sided designs.  The colors I used are Blushing Bride, Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce.  The stamp set is the Tropical Chic stamp set.

I also want to share a simple technique – Masking.  I want to share that using the Bloom by Bloom stamp set from the upcoming Occasions catalog.  As you see these colors evolve as I make this card, I know you are going to wonder how these colors are really going to work together.  When you watch the how-to video, you’ll see what I mean.

Three of these colors are part of the 2018-2020 In Colors;  Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch, and Call Me Clover.  If you are wondering how I got the straight line. . . it’s an easy masking technique.  If you have post it notes or scrap paper in your house – you can do it!

I would love to have you leave me a comment on what you think of the Simple Stamping series.   Well and I wouldn’t mind a comment about the card samples too!
